We (Erich Soeller & Larry Snyder) started out on this endeavor in Erich's
basement while we were still in high school. We ended up working out of
a storefront at 1107 E 3rd into the early 1970s. It was two blocks
from the drug abuse clinic. Miraculously, we were only held up once. That effort pretty much wound down in the mid 70s. Erich went on to enjoy a career as a professional musician; Larry spent a decade at Tektronix working with world-class test equipment followed by a couple more in the IT field. Erich left this world in July of 2003. He lived the life he had wanted to live, and that's about all anyone can ask for. He was a great guy and a helluva guitarist. He is missed. By 2009, the IT picture in the area had gotten more than a little crazy, and Larry decided that there might be a market for his vacuum tube knowledge; it is a dying art. Reaching back into his memory, and looking at the sun-bleached sign still hanging in his garage, he came to the conclusion that it was worth a shot. I hope the local music community agrees. -ls- June, 2009 |
